Where the wave of moonlight glosses

*waves* Hello friends!

It has been a busy few weeks chez clef, let me tell you.

First of all, I do intend to finish all of the prompts that I got in my song meme, so thank you to everyone who contributed. Most of them are half-written, but I haven't had a chance to go back and get them done.

The reason for the delay is that my costume for Dragoncon wound up being FAR more time-consuming than I expected, with several setbacks that required some creative problem solving to work around. Turns out that wings are harder than they look!

As soon as I got back from the convention, it was back to school! (Seriously, my flight was delayed, and then we had to drive from Buffalo airport into Canada, so I got home at, like, 3am, and was up at 7am to go to work). I'm at a new school this year, which is always intimidating, but everything and everyone seems good so far. I'm hoping to join the Age of the Geeks club as a teacher advisor. :D

I've signed up for both j2_reversebang (for which I've claimed an awesome prompt) and spn_reversebang. I love reversebangs. :) I'll be signing up for spn_j2_xmas as soon as I get my requests organized, and I'm slowly chugging away at my story for sherlock_remix. Oh, and I'm going to be making stuff up for heading up a discussion about world building at spn_writing next week, which I hope people will show up to so I'm not just talking into the void. Who needs sleep?

How are things with everyone else?

To that end, I have some cosplay pictures to share!

At the end of May (because that's how on top of these things I am right now), I went to my local anime convention with my sister. And we did The Labyrinth!

Also, we managed to find some maroon corduroy for my Dragoncon costume, which is awesome. Corduroy is hard to find, yo.

I return! *bows* Well, technically I returned yesterday, but there's always stuff to catch up on after being away so I was kind of busy. Also, I hadn't checked LJ or my email since last Monday, so I had a lot of backlog to go through. *grins*

My convention was very good! A little colder than I would have liked as there's walking both from the hotel to the convention and from one part of the convention to another (it takes up half of a convention centre and public rooms in three different hotels), but there was no rain which I count as a win. Our costumes turned out well, although we were totally working on them right up until the moment we left the hotel, which is always a bummer. So many little details that take four million times longer than you expect them to. I do not have pictures yet because I was not the person whose camera was used, but I shall try to post some on the weekend.

And I have nothing else to say!

*waves* Sort of exciting things have been going on in the life of me, namely, my degree is finished! *fist pump* Which means that my post high school life looks mostly like this:

- Undergrad degree = get!
- Post Grad diploma = get!
- Masters degree = get!
- Another Undergrad degree = get!
- Job = ... orz

But still, yay for being done! And my annual anime con was the other week, which was great fun, as ever. And our costumes were awesomesauce.

I'm on the right in the first photo and the far left in the second. And my compatriot in the Friday photo is on the far right in the Sat/Sun one, if anyone cares. Amazing the difference a wig makes, ne? One of these days, I'll show you my Dean Winchester. ^_~

In other news! Not much really. My posting date for spn_j2_bigbang isn't until July 25 (which I am undertaking with the very talented mithborien), so I'll let you all wait eagerly for that *cough* while I dick around with some shorter bits.

Con report! A week late, but still here!

Have slept and eaten enough to make up for the weekend, so here's a quick con report!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous (19-23 all weekend and sunny!) which is very unusual for AniNorth. Made my costume rather overwarm (vinyl over vinyl over cotton), but as my sis was in... considerably less, I'm happier that the weather was nice.

Been too lazy to upload my pics thus far, but I found some other people's in the massive deluge of stuff on cosplay.com.

Weapons only came on Saturday after I kinda broke my Zodiac Spear (some ultimate weapon *sigh*), but they still looked pretty damn good the rest of the time anyway I think.

I got some nice swag including but not limited to; a Reno 'action figure,' an art book for Wild Adapter by Kazuya Minekura, a make-your-own UFO doll that I'm still working on and an excessive amount of gorgeous prints out of the artist's alley. *sparkles* I also got a few cosplay photos of my own which include, among others, a disco-posed Junpei who was absolutely brilliant. :)

And because I am nuts, have a con-inspired ficbit! (FFVII - 500ish words)
