Hi! It's September and I'm really not sure how that happened. I'm also not sure how I haven't posted an update since bloody January. Can I blame my chronic slacker tendencies my job?

This dreamwidth is a mirror of my account on LJ. I've let the mirroring lapse hardcore in recent years, but this summer's mass immigration to these parts has encouraged me to try and be better about it. Er, except for my Master List post. There's no way I'm going to remember to update that with Dreamwidth links. I'll always link to AO3, at least?

I am actually in a really good place right now, emotionally speaking. My job is very busy, but I feel more confident in my position and the courses I'm teaching than I did last year. I'm also helping out with some clubs that I'm actually interested in, which makes it more fun than work. I'm hoping to do more writing as a result of this emotional upswing, but it will depend on how organized I am.

What's gone on with me in the past, geez, 9 months, you ask? Here's a list!

Title: Muse FM
Author name: [personal profile] cleflink
Artist name: [personal profile] dollarformyname
Fandom: CWRPS
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Rating: PG
Word count: 31920
Warnings: Fantasy violence

Summary: Jared's job is boring, boring, boring. As a night security guard, he protects empty buildings by sitting on his ass and watching the security cameras while listening to a lot of talk radio. Not exactly the life he dreamed of for himself but hey, it's a living.

When he gets chosen for a new job babysitting the front desk at Muse FM radio station, Jared's mostly expecting more of the same. He's not expecting Jensen, the mysterious, hoodie-wearing host of Muse FM's overnight show, to catch his interest quite so thoroughly, or to be quite so difficult to figure out. He's not expecting so many unanswered questions about what, exactly, he's supposed to be protecting Jensen from. He's also not expecting to care so much about either of those things.

Oh, and he's definitely not expecting the monsters.

Master Art Post

Acknowledgements: Massive thanks to [personal profile] dollarformyname for picking my summary and for making some gorgeous art despite so many other things getting in her way. She's so wonderfully talented and I am beyond lucky to get to work with such amazing artists year after year for this challenge. Your enthusiasm and determination have been truly amazing to experience, hon; I'm delighted that we finally got to work together after all this time! Everyone make sure to check out her Art Post and take a look at all the lovely things!

Hugs and thanks to [personal profile] dugindeep for being my sounding board, whip cracker and sprint partner. I missed you in the end process, my dear, *shakes fist at life* but it wouldn't have happened at all without your help, so thank you! Thanks also to Laura for the quick and dirty beta. Any remaining mistakes are mine.

Thanks as always to [personal profile] wendy for keeping this ship afloat year after year! This is my seventh year participating, and it's a (stressful) delight every year. You rock, Wendy!

And finally, thanks to all of you for reading! This one kind of took on a life of its own, so I hope you enjoy.
I've had several PMs and comments about this recently, so I want to take a minute to discuss my policy on translations.

Summary: In which John is far too old for all of this excitement, but it was certainly better than the alternative.

John woke up to an empty bed and promptly panicked. )

Art Post

Acknowledgements: I was brave (and lucky) this year and managed to claim the inestimable [ profile] quickreaver for my artist, which was all kinds of fantastic. She is the master of haunting, beautiful images, and I had more ideas than I knew what to do with when it came to the piece that she submitted for claims this year. She was also very patient with me and my ludicrously long outline, even when I managed to make us miss our original posting day, and has created several gorgeous pieces to complement the story. Make sure you drop by her Art Post and leave her some love!

Many thanks to [ profile] dugindeep for helping me coordinate my many weird ideas into a single (hopefully) cohesive story, and for volunteering as a beta when I was losing my mind trying to balance RL, migraines and impending deadlines. I can always count on you, hon! You're awesome. :) Any remaining errors are my own.

Thanks to our lovely mods who keep us running smoothly, year after year.

And finally, thank you to everyone who gives this story a try. I sincerely hope you enjoy it!
Point the First: Exam season sucks. I'll touch base with all of y'all in a couple of weeks.

Point the Second: I don't usually do shameless plugs, but I make exceptions for family members. My sister has her first ever shirt design up for voting on threadless. If anybody is willing to take a look and, if you like it, give it an upvote, I would be much obliged.

Ta da!

The Honest Pupitician, a cool t-shirt design

Peace out! :)
Hello everyone! I hope that you all had a lovely time over Christmas. Mine was pretty restful, which was great until I was forced to admit that all of the work that I brought home over the Christmas break still had to be done, and I've done mostly nothing since work for the past three days. Safe to say, the weekend is not going to be more of the same. :P

The semester is nearly over! \o/ Which means that I'm moving into one of the two busiest months of my entire year, but my second semester should be a lot lighter on marking, which will hopefully help me balance my time better. *fingers crossed* One of these days, I will learn how to manage my marking, I am determined!

I'm trying very hard to have the rest of my [ profile] spn_j2_xmas fic posted before I go back to work on Monday. To the lovely people who commented on the original post, I shall respond to you once the rest is up so that you know that there's more to read. :P I'm also slowly trucking away on something for [ profile] spn_reversebang, which is probably going to be my main fandom focus for the next little while. I have about a million WIPs on my computer right now, so one of my goals for 2017 is to finish as many of them as I can because it's getting ridiculous.

How are all of you doing?
Title: Your Eyes Can Only Tell the Truth
Fandom: CWRPS
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Rating: G
Word count: (currently) 3470
A/N: Written for [ profile] raeschae's pretend boyfriends prompt in the 2016 round of [ profile] spn_j2_xmas. Because ridiculous fic tropes are the best kind.
[ profile] raeschae I have a double apology for you. First of all, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting so long for your gift and, secondly, I must apologize because there's more of it yet to come that I just could not get finished in time even for my extended deadline. I intend to have the rest up in the next few days come hell or high water, so you (and everyone else) are welcome to wait and read it once it's properly complete.

Summary: Jared's master plan for getting his parents to stop worrying about his (lack of a) love life could maybe use some work.

I want you to come with me to dinner at my parents' this weekend as my pretend boyfriend. )

Hi guys, just wanted to let people who are interested know that [ profile] stormbrite and I posted our [ profile] j2_reversebang collaboration last night.

Summary: Even for New York, a wizard duel between a giant goth and a graffiti-slinging hobo is beyond weird. Maybe if Jensen's lucky, he's hallucinating the entire thing.

Title: The Truth Spinner: A Beginner's Guide to Goth Wizardry
Author: [ profile] cleflink
Artist: [ profile] stormbrite
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Warning: PG
Word count: 4710
A/N: Written for the inaugural round of [ profile] j2_reversebang. A million kudos to the lovely [ profile] stormbrite for her gorgeous art and her incredible patience with me as RL conspired to make me late for pretty much everything about this challenge. I dearly wish that I'd had more time to work on this story, because it was such a fun premise to work with. Go to her Art Post and leave some much-deserved love! Also available on AO3.

Summary: Even for New York, a wizard duel between a giant goth and a graffiti-slinging hobo is beyond weird. Maybe if Jensen's lucky, he's hallucinating the entire thing.

"This is insane," he said, mostly because it seemed like someone should. )
