Man, there's like no fiction getting posted here recently. Sorry.

I return! *bows* Well, technically I returned yesterday, but there's always stuff to catch up on after being away so I was kind of busy. Also, I hadn't checked LJ or my email since last Monday, so I had a lot of backlog to go through. *grins*

My convention was very good! A little colder than I would have liked as there's walking both from the hotel to the convention and from one part of the convention to another (it takes up half of a convention centre and public rooms in three different hotels), but there was no rain which I count as a win. Our costumes turned out well, although we were totally working on them right up until the moment we left the hotel, which is always a bummer. So many little details that take four million times longer than you expect them to. I do not have pictures yet because I was not the person whose camera was used, but I shall try to post some on the weekend.

And I have nothing else to say!

Sounds like you had blast, I'm glad the weather was on your side. Was there something in particular you were looking forward to? I've only been to one convention but it was a lot of fun and there was a lot for sale that I wouldn't find easily in shops or even online.

I have to admit that it was kind of chilly - especially lining up to get our convention badges on Thursday! - but I'd honestly rather it be a little on the cool side than dealing with HOT weather. Really unpleasant, especially when in costume.

I actually bought nearly nothing this year, which is weird for me. There were a couple of anime movies I was looking for, but they charge so much for them that I figured I'd be better off buying them on Amazon. I used to come home from this convention desperately poor every year, but I find that they have less stuff that I am both interested in and can't get elsewhere at better prices than they used to. Also, some of their prices are BRUTAL. Someone had the official Sting replica from the Hobbit and they were charging $250 for it. I got it off ThinkGeek for $130, plus a discount. *shakes head*

Most of what I like about this convention is the atmosphere: there are between 20-25,000 people there every day and they're all mad as march hares. A good third of people come in costume (it's a lot of fun to see which cosplays you recognize!) and everyone else has their geek chic on. They also do tv/movie showings as well as AMV contests and etc. It's just a fun, crazy weekend.
