My working draft for my Big Bang fic is a go! *triumphant fist pump* The story is not done done, but at least now all the scenes are there, I don't come off as a complete waste of writing space (hopefully) and the edits from here should be of the 'fix this paragraph' type rather than the 'rewrite this entire section'. It's also 55k which, while I know it's not a particularly large number for some people (I'm looking at you [livejournal.com profile] peppervl), is quite the accomplishment for me. Also, that's like 20k longer than the first draft was, which is my excuse for why I'm so slow. Posting in two weeks!

And kudos to all of y'all who have already finished your fics while I'm still flailing around in the background!

Of course, now this means I should probably pay some attention to the research work I'm supposed to be doing (for three different professors! Apparently the secret to being employed by my university is to stop going there). And more edits, of course. I'd really rather be writing something for [livejournal.com profile] blindfold_spn, though. We'll have to see what happens!

Also, I totally just wanted an excuse to use my new icon. I am too a writer! ^_~

[livejournal.com profile] peppervl doesn't count. While the challenge for most of us is to get our wordcounts up, she breathes and 1,000 words type themselves, so her challenge is to keep her wordcount *down*.

It's true. I've seen it happen. 0__0

TRUFAX. It's enough to give somebody a complex.

Or something to aspire to, I suppose. Probably not for me. But someone else, definitely.

I would get upset with you.

But you're right.

(My story was relatively short this year! A QUARTER the length of last year's! You should be proud!)

*sticks tongue out at both of you*

*sticks tongue out at both of you*

Aw, don't be like that. We point fingers because we love.

(I like how your relatively short is only about 10k less than my really long). *hangs head*

From: [identity profile] peppervl.livejournal.com

Of course you do. *eyes you*

Well, it is the shortest of my long fics. The next longest is 18,000 words. And also complete crack. And animal transformation.

From: [identity profile] cleflink.livejournal.com

Does it count as multi-tasking if we're comment swapping and on MSN at the same time? Cause I think it sounds much more productive.

*bats eyelashes*

I wholeheartedly approve of both crack and animal transformations. BB is longest, next longest is two around 35k? Then 26k. Then... shorter than that. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Yes, it totally counts as multi-tasking. Tomorrow, we shall try multi-tasking that involves writing or editing or betaing.

*cackles and rubs hands with glee* I will get back at you for that comment by being super mean and insisting on logic, internal consistency, and showing-not-telling. Bwahahahahaha.

Have you read my crack-animal-transformation stories? Or any of them other than my M&M ones? Not that you have to. Just curious.

And I have short stories too. Most of them are part of much, much, much longer verses or timestamps, but that is not the point. *harumphs*

Also? I totally want to steal that icon.

Back from the beach and amazingly only done about medium-rare!

I don't fear you and your mad beta skills! *throws arms wide* Bring it on!

I have not yet read your animal transformation stories. We've established that I've read SVD and a check on your master list reveals that I've also read To Dream, Perchance To Live - I just didn't know it was yours! Apparently I was even a conscientious reader and a left you a comment (http://butterflywrites.livejournal.com/13760.html?thread=337344#t337344)! *laughs*

I am pretty fond of this icon (I am a writer! *grin*) You are certainly welcome to snag a copy - just give it a credit.

Hopefully today will be a multi-tasking day for both of us! Cheers!

OMG YOU DIDN'T CRISP! *giggles*

And I will have stuff for you probably Tuesday. Hopefully that's soon enough. *bites lip*

And awesome. Was just curious 'cause I'm never sure when I'm talking to someone what they've read and what they haven't... and I hate being all "well, you know..." when someone doesn't.

Of course I'll credit for the icon. *snags* Did you make it yourself?

I hope your day was more productive than mine. *shifty look* I think I, uh, may have needed a relaxing weekend.

From: [identity profile] cleflink.livejournal.com

Only slightly crisped! Lots of random really burned patches where I clearly missed applying sunscreen, light burning on my back and even more freckles - could be worse.

Tuesday is more than fine, especially since my day has been totally unproductive. *makes face* I hope you have enjoyed your relaxing weekend!

Yes, I did make it myself! ^_^ It turned out pretty well I think, which is impressive when mostly I just dick around in Photoshop and see what happens. Pointless blue stripes FTW!
