Fic title: Judgment in Reverse
Author name: [livejournal.com profile] cleflink
Artist name: [livejournal.com profile] ldyghst
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Rating: R
Word count: 30,900
Warnings: Coup-related violence, minor character deaths
A/N: Written for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang's 2015 round. The title is a reference to the Judgment Tarot Card.

Summary: In a world governed by order and logic, Jensen is a square peg in a round hole: the only person whose government-mandated prophecies are never right. When he receives a prophecy that he can't fake, however; he finds himself caught up in something that's much bigger than he realized. Something that threatens to rewrite everything he thinks he knows about the world. Something that threatens to topple the very foundations of his society.

Something that just might be magic.

Acknowledgements: Thank you first and foremost to [livejournal.com profile] ldyghst, who chose my crazy little story for this challenge and made some absolutely lovely art for it. Despite the terrible first draft she read, [livejournal.com profile] ldyghst was able to create a very distinct and stylish feel for her art that complements this story more than I ever could have hoped for. She was also hella patient with me when things weren't finished on time, which I very much appreciate. Please head over to her Art Post and let her know how fabulous her art is!

[livejournal.com profile] dugindeep always deserves love, booze and chocolates from me when it comes to her awesomeness at brainstorming and sprinting. This year, I have to give her especial thanks for stepping in as a much-needed zero-hour beta. Don't know what I'd do without you, hon! (Fail miserably, most likely). Any inability to use the English language that still remains is totally my bad.

And finally, hooray for [livejournal.com profile] wendy for hosting this challenge year after year! You're awesome!

I hope you all enjoy this story!

Eventually, yes. But I didn't want to keep my artist up any later while I fiddled around with them, so they're still in the pipeline. AO3 should be up tonight (provided I don't pass out on my keyboard), and the PDF should be up in the next day or two.

EDIT: Here (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4203321) is the AO3 link. And now I'm going to bed. :) Enjoy!

*clings* OH MY GOD, AMY, NEVER LET ME DO THAT AGAIN.

Collapsing and then helping sounds like the right order for these things. Right now, I am impressed that I can still string a sentence together. :P

You are my favourite! Mwah!

There are some stories that don't look like they're my 'type' -- RPS, rated R..... --- but something told me to give this one a shot.

I am SO GLAD I DID.

This was WONDERFUL. Well-written, completely clear world, I could see every little bit in my head. I loved it!

Thank you so much for this!!!

I am so glad that you decided to give it a try and (especially) that it was worth your while to do so. Honestly, the story probably doesn't need an R rating, but with the spoiler things in the last part, I figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

This was a fun world to build; I'm glad it came to life for you!

Thank you for a lovely comment! :)

Wow! What a great fic! Your world building was really well done. I want more of this, more history, more future. More of all the powers. Thank you for posting and all your hard work writing!

I feel like the future is mostly make-outs and legal policy. Probably at the same time more often than people who are not Jared or Jensen appreciate. The ancient society might be fun to play with, though. Er, after the four million other things on my To Do List. orz

Thank you for taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
