I've still got some stuff on the burner right now that I'm definitely working on first, but I haven't got the foggiest idea what to write for Bigbang this year and that's probably something I should be getting on (that's what she said). *cough* And tomorrow is a holiday, which makes this a great time to start brainstorming.

Which is why I need all of you to help me out here.

EDIT: The lovely akintay has informed me that crossovers are off the table for bigbang, but being inspired by something else is okay. Which is all I ever do anyway, so you can still pick that one if that's your thing. Also, I don't know how to edit polls.

*grins* I love stories that bring law enforcement shows in contact with the Winchesters.

Even by Dean's dubious standards, this Bones chick was weird. But at least she and Sam could have fun geeking out over hundred year old kelpie remains together - provided Agent Seeley 'Broody McBrooderson' Booth didn't either arrest them or burst a blood vessel in the meantime.

I have to say, that list is VERY difficult to choose from. Adventures and explorers also sounds like great fun!

For meme prompt in the vein of the genre I did pick, how about Jared is an ice dragon and Jensen is the first human to set foot in his domain. (Or vice-versa.)

Yeah, I know. But I figured that if I made it ticky boxes I'd just get a general YES TO ALL which would be... not helpful. I'm more than likely to combine genres anyway so this is more of a general guideline.

Four sentences because I felt like it.

Long knives of ice stole Jensen's breath right out of his chest, releasing it into the air where it hung in a fine, bitingly cold mist against his numbed cheeks. He knew intellectually that more than a few minutes of this would send him spiralling into hypothermia, but the freezing air wasn't doing nearly as good a job at turning his blood to ice as the sudden gleam of keen eyes and black-burnished scales in the shadows.

A low, shuddering "Well," sent the temperature plunging even further and it was only because he was too scared to move that Jensen didn't buckle immediately to the floor. "A visitor."

Why in the great high heaven don't I have any dragon icons? *shakes head*

Btw, crossovers aren't allowed for the BB challenge! I think you can write something that is inspired by something else, but you're not allowed to use characters / plots / settings from a different show, book, movie etc.

I love Southern Gothic stuff, but I'm not sure what you can make of that. Maybe a Hatfields and McCoys sort of family vs. family scenario? Hmmm, or maybe something that feels like 'Hatfields and McCoys' meet 'Bonnie and Clyde': two guys who grew up together, their families hating each other, but they fall in love anyway and go on a crime spree.

Or ... maybe some sort of shipwreck misadventure that somehow maroons Sam and Dean (or J2) on an island. THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU. (Well, not exactly The Island of Dr. Moreau because that would mean a crossover but something like that? Or not!)

Anywho, that's what I've got. GOOD LUCK. ;)

PS ... I'm always up for a western, too! Maybe something around the Gold Rush. Okay, I'm done. I swear.

Jensen rolled his eyes and then let the rest of his body follow until he was pressed close to Jared's chest and in prime kissing distance. "They killed themselves trying to find a way out," Jensen said seriously. "But us? We're going to make the world kill for us."

"Christ on a cracker," Dean said, wiping the back of his hand across his brow and leaving a smear of what was probably blood in his wake. "The fuck was that?"

Sam looked down at the limp mass of fur and limbs at their feet - not human, not animal and nothing even close to anything he'd ever read in Dad's journal - and felt a frisson of fear crawl down his spine. "I've got no frigging clue."

When I think gold rush, I think the Yukon gold rush, so not so Western-y? Sorry.

He seemed nice, this Jared, and surprisingly optimistic for someone who'd been in this godforsaken wasteland for nearly a year with nothing to show for it but frostbite and debt. But Jensen couldn't find it in himself to be charitable to anyone while there was a nugget of gold the size of his fist burning cold and heavy against his chest.

*laughs* I'll take holidays with silly names over work any time! But yes, it's a very silly name for a holiday.

"You'll find," said the gorgeous, crimson-robed Ll'akthe to the two hulking Cressians that he'd just put on the floor so smoothly that Jared hadn't even seen him move, "That there's a distinct difference between a whore and a tlahan." He raised his chin with all the regality of an emperor. "And you can't afford me."
