Hi-ho LJ! How goes?

Both [livejournal.com profile] spnspringfling and [livejournal.com profile] holmestice are live and there's some really good stuff up already as well as much more to come. See if you can spot me before the posting ends. *grins*

As promised, I have pictures to show off from my convention! Because I'm shameless like that.

So, my sis and I regularly do matching costumes since it's more fun that way and we look enough alike to make it interesting. This year we did two different versions of Sora from the RPG video game Kingdom Hearts II. I was cosplaying the Wisdom Form and my sister was the Anti Form.

And here they are!

Kind of nifty, huh? ^_^

I hate those wigs SO much, just so everyone knows. I've never spiked wigs before, which made this quite the trial by fire. Not bad for a first attempt, but they really don't look the way I wanted them to, which is irritating. Also, they took at least 10 hours each, which I was totally not expecting. On the plus side, however, they can apparently withstand gale force winds and make great pointy weapons when people are irritating.

I totally dig the shoes came out, though, which were my other major job (these things are always a cooperative effort). Surprisingly comfortable to walk in which, as anyone who does cosplay can tell you, is always a major bonus. Some of the shoes I've worn are unbelievably awful.

All done for another year! Back to writing! *grins*

Also, has everybody seen the trailer for Mark Pellegrino's new series, The Tomorrow People? Looks pretty shiny. Especially when Mark shows up being all evil and awesome. ^_^

Yeah, wigs are fucking *rough* to take care of. I've basically given up on them in my dress up. Only my gay boyfriend in high school--who was a costume genius and who used me as his barbie doll--nows how to tame them.

I always do that when I'm wearing my hobbit slippers. XD THEY MAKE MY FEET LIKE TWICE AS LONG, CLIMBING STAIRS IS SO HARD LIKE THAT.

You know, I've been curious about Kingdom Hearts since it first came out when I was in 7th grade, and I've still never gotten a chance to play it. Alas, I'm too poor to be a gamer. I only have a Wii because I won it from my school, and I only own two games for it because my roommate bought them (as a ~present for me but really because she wanted to play them). I am, however, the fucking master at the three or four games I ever do get to play. XD

We started out picking costumes that didn't require wigs, then started branching out, so I've got a little collection now. I have no damn idea how I'm going to store these two, though; it's not like I can fold them flat. I may have to procure some hat boxes. Sans hats, I assume.

We totally did not take any stairs because I probably would have killed myself (and the shoes) if I'd tried it. Elevators all the way, baby. EVERYONE ELSE CAN JUST GET OUT OF MY WAY. LADY WITH BIG SHOES COMING THROUGH.

I'm lucky in that both of my siblings are also video game nerds and it's easier to afford the games and systems when you split the cost. The Playstation II is probably my favourite system for the single player games it has (read: mostly RPGs), although Nintendo has the best multiplayers and Zelda. Which is always awesome. I'm generally shit at most games so no online multiplayers for me (thanks anyway, Halo) but I do like my fantasy games. What have you got for the Wii?

I've got Mario Kart (which I am UNBEATABLE at and which I have always excelled at, all the way back to my N64 days) and Mario Party (which is not nearly as fun on Wii as it was on N64 and other platforms). Once I get my own place and can afford a TV so I can hook the Wii up again, I hope to get Super Smash Brothers, because that used to be my jam as well. :)

I used to have a PS2 in middle/high school! I can hardly remember what games I had on it except GTA III. You never forget your first time being a brutal criminal who gets to bang hookers, then kill them and take their money...

The N64 is one of the best systems ever, if you ask me. We still play a lot of our N64 games, especially the multiplayers (although the system is a bit touchy these days). I haven't tried Mario Party on the Wii yet - there are so many Mario Partys to choose from, I think we got bored.

You forgot running them over. Extra points for running over hookers. And the old people with their walkers. Since they're clogging the roads and all. It's a public service!

We had this really sweet British dude living with us once for a little while--I think I was in like 8th grade at this point--and he found us playing GTA once and was so, so horrified when he saw us doing those things, so we were like, "YOU WANNA PLAY?" and it was so funny, he got so into it, but every time he killed someone as he plowed down the sidewalk, he'd be like, "Oh, I'm so sorry! So terribly sorry!" in his little accent. LOLtastic childhood memories.

*laughs* Adorable! And, of course, everything is better with a cute British accent.
