Personally, the flashbacks were the part that really allowed me to get into this story as a writer. Before I made the decision to include them, the story felt very flat and uninteresting to me.
This is meant to be a story about life and the large and small ways that Jensen's life is changing due to Jared and their bond. I'm sorry if you felt unsatisfied by where it ended, but I did exactly what I set out to do: create a slice of life story about Jared and Jensen learning to build a life together. There is no tidy resolution to all of the 'plot points' because life isn't like that, especially when dealing with relationships with others, such as Jared's friends or both sets of parents. Those are long-range issues that I feel I would have done a disservice to had I tried to resolve them in a single story, no matter how long. And, to be honest, there was no way that I would have had the time to write about all of their interactions with Home and still make my posting deadline - it's been a busy year.
Which is not to say that I consider this verse complete because there is most definitely more to explore. And I'm glad that Jared and Jensen's genuine affection for each other came through clearly for you. I have no immediate plans for a sequel, but I shall do my best to return to this verse when I can. I love these guys too much to leave them alone forever. :)
