I'm very glad to hear that you thought John's behaviour ran true to character. I feel like the combination of not wanting to be the centre of attention and being determined to choose his own path has done a lot to shape John as a person and would carry over in a lot of ways to a world like the one in this story. Also, his ability to outstubborn anything and everything (with the possible exception of Sherlock) probably has a lot to do with it. ^_^
