I'm only an adult if you judge based on age

Hi-ho LJ! How goes?

Both [livejournal.com profile] spnspringfling and [livejournal.com profile] holmestice are live and there's some really good stuff up already as well as much more to come. See if you can spot me before the posting ends. *grins*

As promised, I have pictures to show off from my convention! Because I'm shameless like that.

So, my sis and I regularly do matching costumes since it's more fun that way and we look enough alike to make it interesting. This year we did two different versions of Sora from the RPG video game Kingdom Hearts II. I was cosplaying the Wisdom Form and my sister was the Anti Form.

And here they are!

Kind of nifty, huh? ^_^

I hate those wigs SO much, just so everyone knows. I've never spiked wigs before, which made this quite the trial by fire. Not bad for a first attempt, but they really don't look the way I wanted them to, which is irritating. Also, they took at least 10 hours each, which I was totally not expecting. On the plus side, however, they can apparently withstand gale force winds and make great pointy weapons when people are irritating.

I totally dig the shoes came out, though, which were my other major job (these things are always a cooperative effort). Surprisingly comfortable to walk in which, as anyone who does cosplay can tell you, is always a major bonus. Some of the shoes I've worn are unbelievably awful.

All done for another year! Back to writing! *grins*

Also, has everybody seen the trailer for Mark Pellegrino's new series, The Tomorrow People? Looks pretty shiny. Especially when Mark shows up being all evil and awesome. ^_^

it's not fair that you are so ridiculously talented in so many different areas. I tried to make my daughter a "knight" costume once by wrapping her soccer shin guards and bike elbow pads in tinfoil... it was so, so pathetic. Your costumes are amaze-balls.

springfling is just too much fun. It's a good thing they are all so short, because I want to read them aaaaaaallllll. I'm not good at guessing authors, but isn't there also some art coming? I might be able to guess some artists.

:)

:-O

HOLY SHIT THOSE COSTUMES ARE AMAZING. I mean, not like I thought you were spending time on half-assing something, but seriously. SO OVER THE TOP INCREDIBLE, I'M IN AWE OF YOUR TALENTS.

Now use these talents for good. Like making more Marksha icons :D

I confess I am not familiar with the game, but you guys look incredible! Those costumes look stellar--yes, even the wigs. :P But you're right about the shoes. They're the first thing that popped out at me like "Ah! Such a cool effect!"

This is great and you should feel great. :DDDD

The Tomorrow People is the one new show on the CW that I'm looking forward to. It makes me so happy that there will be so many new sci-fi shows next season. Too bad none of them will be space-based. Oh well... Better something than a kick in the balls, right?

Oh, wow! Your outfits, the whole ensemble, look amazing! Totally awesome work on the cosplay. So glad you had a great time. :)

Wow, the costumes look AMAZING!

I came to your lj because I saw your hilarious Jared-frowning-behind-bars icon in summergen and wanted to beg you to let me steal it (with credit, of course), and then I found this awesomeness! I have infinite admiration for people who can cosplay anime characters with this degree of reality; I once dressed as Princess Tutu (see my icon!), but that wasn't nearly as hard as the crazy spiky 'do. (I have a friend who made herself an anger mark barrette for one of her anime costumes, which was pretty cool.)

... And I have to say I'm relieved to read those were wigs, because to have your own hair shellacked like that would SUUUUUCK.

Anyway, hope you don't mind a stranger dropping by and leaving a comment. :-)
